nyc transit strike

sighhh as everyone knows, the new york city transit workers went on strike yesterday. it was crazie getting to work. i think it took us about an hour and half driving into manhattan yesterday. it really wasn't so bad because we were in the car ... warm. coming home from manhattan was a different story. yami and i couldn't find any other means of transportation so we decided to walk home. it was a far walk... really far. it felt like going through the 2003 NYC Blackout all over again except this time around we were walking in the 23°F temperature in the dark but crowded streets. we made it home alright (thanks YAMI for keeping me company) at 9:00 PM... well, could've been 8:00 pm but we had to stop by at boston market to grab something to eat cuz we were starving. i came home tired and out of energy. my body was shivering under the warmth of my comforter and i couldn't get a good night's sleep.

today is day 2 of the transit strike. and here i am at work once again. i am tired, sleepless and annoyed at the inconvenience that the strike is causing everyone that relies on mass transportation.

but life must go on no matter how rough it gets.
