smoke free. gym full.
I'm sooooo glad the week is over. It was such a long and painful week. 9 hour days weren't enough to get the ball rolling. If my boss didn't have 4 kids, he probably would have kept me working until 8:00 PM. it was really hard getting by the day.
i still managed to NOT SMOKE despite the stress. i've been going to the gym instead. ahihihihi. i'm so proud of myself. i've been dragging my fat ass to the gym after work. hopefully i'd be able to keep this up until September for my brother's wedding. I need to lose the flab..... badly.
i think being 25 changed my outlook in life. it just made me realize how much i value my life. that's one of the reasons why i stopped smoking. i want to be able to breathe normally and not always gasp for air when i'm walking up the steps. i really want my lungs to go back to it's normal shape. it's probably dark from all the cigarettes i've smoked.
being back at the gym isn't easy for me. i think quitting smoking is easier because i'm not craving for it whatsoever. you can smoke in front of me and i won't be tempted to smoke with you. but working out is harder than I thought it would be. i tried running earlier this week on the threadmill. i ended up catching my breath every couple of minutes and i felt dehydrated. every other girl on the threadmill was running like they're in a marathon and there i was ...... jogging and gasping for air and stopping and walking ... in less than 5 minutes. i did that for a good half hour. it was embarrassing! it was then i realized how out of shape i am.
yesterday, i decided to get off 53rd street and walk the rest of the way to work .. in heels. it took me 16 minutes to do it. it took me 10 minutes today in sneakers. then after work, i went to the gym and worked out. i spent most of my time on the threadmill and i have to say, i did a lot better than before. i think those 16 minutes walking to and from the subway station helped me control my breathing.
i really hope i get to keep this up. wish me luck.
have a great long weekend everyone.
