Starbucks

NYC has hundreds of Starbucks franchise at every corner. If the nearby starbucks is too crowded, you can always find one just by walking a few extra blocks, short NYC blocks. They are everywhere! I counted 4 Starbucks from 40th to 43rd Streets on Lex and 3rd Aves. I wasn't kidding when I said they're everywhere... until, of course, when you're in desperate need for a mocha latte, then they strangely disappear. It's like they know when I needed one, so they mockingly packed up and relocated to a much farther walk. Grrrrrr.

So here's the story behind that mini rant. My 3PM doctor's appointment was canceled because i was late. Some of it was my fault, the rest of the blame is pointed towards the MTA. I left my house at 2:35 and still would've made it to the doctor's office around 3:05 if i had taken the 7 train; i know that's still late, but an acceptable form of lateness ... Anyway, when i got the train station, they had yellow taped the turnstiles. No announcements. No written warning. I had no idea what was going on, i just know I can't get pass the yellow tape. In a time crunch to get to the city, i had to find another route, quickly, which in turn, meant time wasted. The other route was a long walk back and involved a lot of waiting for the trains, it was my only option. I made it at the receptionist desk at exactly 3:48, she asked for my name and then said "The doctor won't see you." I was late, so i was punished. This appointment was scheduled two months ago. It was the earliest availability the doctor had when I called in. Afraid that I might have to wait another two months to see this doctor, the receptionist asked if I wanted to reschedule. Luckily, there's a free spot this Monday at 8:30 AM.

Class doesn't start until 6 and I had some free time on my hands. That's when I craved for Starbucks. It'll give me some time to read the article for the test on my English class. So i walked two blocks from Grand Central and found a Starbucks but it looked crowded. I figured I'd walk to school and was pretty confident that I'd see another Starbucks on the way. It took 10 blocks and a long avenue down when I spotted one. I ordered my coffee, sat, and relaxed. There really is no better place to chill than Starbucks - good coffee, perfect ambiance and free wifi.
