Hungrily waiting
I came back from the doctor's office not too long ago. I waited more than 3 hours in an empty stomach to get a sonogram. 3 Long hours!!! It was torture!!!
I didn't realize the wait would be that long. The worst part about it was not being able to eat nor drink. I hadn't anything to eat since the night before. Going through the day without breakfast is like jumping in front of a fast moving train. It's suicidal.
I love to eat and breakfast is my favorite meal. It gives me the energy I need to survive the day. I'll skip lunch. I'll even skip dinner. But I choose not to skip breakfast. Never.
However, in this case, I had to make an exception. I was told to fast. The lady at the reception desk felt bad for me. She knew I've been waiting a while yet there's not much she could do. It was out of her hands. Everything was delayed. There's nothing else to do but wait. I wanted to walk out of there and reschedule my appointment. I thought about it many times over and over. In the end, I decided against it. If I rescheduled, I might have to relive this nightmare of waiting endlessly... so I sucked it up, sat there with my stomach constantly growling, and my patience running dry.
This was torture. When they finally called my name, the technician saw me for maybe 5 or 10 minutes. A 3 hour wait for a 5 minute service.
I officially hate medical offices.
