Halloween
When we got his monkey costume a few weeks ago, Matty did not want to put it on. No matter how hard I tried to convince him, he didn’t want to. Not wanting him to get overly upset over it, we stopped bothering him and never showed him the costume again until halloween night.
To my surprise, he didn’t really protest when the hubs and i were putting it on him. He objected a bit when it took me a while to get the pants on. He kicked and moved a little because he was probably getting anxious and just wanted to play. We told him that he couldn’t go outside to play if he didn’t put his “jacket” on, which really meant the monkey costume. I felt that he understood completely. At that moment, he let his objections go, gave in, and allowed us to put it on him. Meanwhile, the hubs and i have these huge grins on our faces — proud that our little baby understood.
The little one that I carried in my womb for 9 months, the little one that cried his heart out when he was hungry or hurt, the little one that we swaddled when he was a newborn is no longer so little.

ReplyDeleteAww chetz!! It's been a while since I visited your blog, your baby is soooo adorable! (I can't help but think to myself, I GOTTA GET MSELF ONE OF THOSE! Haha) :) I see you're enjoying your mommyhood, I'm really happy for you. My husband and I are not yet ready to have a baby just yet, so we're putting it off for another year or two. But hearing mommy stories really makes me excited in a way. Post more photos of your baby! :)
